Reese, a 2 year old Australian Shepherd mix, was surrendered by her owners and she had never had veterinary care. Reese was diagnosed with Pulmonary Stenosis. Due to the stenosis, ½ of her heart was very enlarged since the blood flow was restricted, and she was at risk for heart attack at any time.
Reese qualified for a study with Red Bank Animal Hospital in Tinton Falls and the procedure could be performed for $3,500--a significant savings from the normal surgery estimate. Because of the threat of a heart attack, Reese's surgery couldn't be delayed.
Our foundation provided a $1,000 grant towards Reese's heart surgery and she has been recovering nicely.
